C.I.L. Bagnara di Romagna Italy 13-14.10.2012

The top of our show season was the C.I.L show – Italian Club Show of lagotto romagnolo in Italian Bagnara di Romagna with

the total number of shown dogs – 192. Traditionally Italian breeders had the highest number of dogs entered but the numbers of foreign exhibitors were not low either. In terms of the number of dogs entered and their quality this show was the biggest lagotto show in the world up to this date. We are happy and proud that we could be part of such a great show full of excellent dogs and nice people.
The judging took longer because of the big number of dogs in each category and was more detailed than we and our dogs are used to, but in the end we all survived.

Results
Eolo dei Boschi D´Oro got Exc. 3, excellent judgement and took 3rd place in Junior class out of 13 dogs. This is a great success and I am still living like in a dream..He was also nominated for the best head competition (shortlist of 7 dogs). The judge was a breed specialist Gilberto Grandi.

Yduns Blue´s Emmy
Emma got Excellent too in strong competition of 16 bitches in the Young class, she was on the shortlist of 6 best bitches in the class. The judge  Dr. Giovanni Morsiani has appraised her excellent movement and harmonic body structure.

Truffles
We have used the opportunity and applied for truffle search work trial. Our dogs have not had any opportunity to try out truffle searching. To my surprise Emma found 2 truffles. She digged out first truffle just next to the judge, but he did not acknowledge that one, because it was outside the designated area, the other one she found in the designated area. This trial is not easy because the dog should find truffles in 10 minutes time limit in the marked area.  It can happen that even work champions find nothing. Eolo you have got a long way to go :-).
